The block has three surfaces with progressively finer grit: the first side smooths surface ridges, the second refines the texture, and the third produces a high-gloss shine that lasts 1 to 2 weeks. Use the sides in strict order, because the shine only appears if all three have been used in sequence, each preparing the surface for the next. Useful if you cannot wear polish at work, and just as useful if you simply prefer a bare nail.Re-buff every 1 to 2 weeks to maintain the shine as nails grow. One block takes 6 to 12 months of regular use before the grit wears down.
